Q2. Answer any six of the following parts in about 30 to 40 words. Each part carries equal marks. (6 x 3 = 18)
(i) Why did the pagan Arabs threaten the Holy Prophet’s (ﷺ) uncle?
Ans. The pagan Arabs threatened the Holy Prophet’s (ﷺ ) uncle Abu Talib so that he can restrain his nephew from preaching oneness of God and spreading the holy message of Almighty Allah as their dominance was threatened in the society.
(ii) How will you define patriotism?
Ans. Patriotism means love for the motherland or devotion to one’s country. It is not only a feeling but also a life spirit that continuously guides a nation. A patriot loves his country and is willing to sacrifice when the need arises. For a patriot, the sovereignty, integrity, and honor of the country are supreme values on which no compromise can be made.
(iv) What can be the possible solution to our present problems?

Ans. The possible solution to our present problems is to follow and act upon the Quaid’s golden motto, “Faith, Unity and Discipline”, by eliminating differences and staying united.
(v) How does the interior of the Sultan Ahmad Mosque look?
Ans. The interior of the mosque at the lower level is lined with more than 20,000 handmade ceramic tiles more than 50 different tulip designs. At the gallery level, the design becomes more flamboyant. The upper level of the interior is adorned with blue paint. More than 200 stained glass windows allow natural light to brighten up its interior. The chandeliers further illuminate its interior.
(viii) How did Hazrat Asma (رضي الله عنہا) console her grandfather?
Ans. The grandfather of Hazrat Asma (رضي الله عنہا) Hazrat Abu Quhafaa was a disbeliever, very old and blind man. He thought that Hazrat Abu Bakar (رضي الله عنه) had taken all the wealth away and had left the family empty-handed and helpless. Hazrat Asma (رضي الله عنہا) wisely consoled him by showing some pebbles as stones or gems. He touched and felt relieved.
Q3a. Paraphrase any ONE of the following stanzas: (03)

Paraphrase: Often when I lay down on my couch and find myself in a thoughtful mood or mentally detached the scene of daffodils is recalled by me and no doubt they are a source of great joy in my loneliness. My heart fills with joy and happiness and makes it to dance along with the daffodils.
