The education system in Pakistan till grade 12 is managed by different Boards of Education. These boards are known as BISE. The word BISE stands for Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. Almost every main city of Pakistan has its own bise board like FBISE, Islamabad. While there are some educational boards that cover many small cities around them.

Grades 9 and 10 are combinedly known as Secondary School Certificate (SSC) while Grade 11 and 12 are called Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC). Both these exams are being organized by bise of concerning areas.
